on december 5, jiang fumao, the deputy chief engineer and president of the design and research institute of dsic, was awarded the title of “ship design master” in 2018 at the 75th anniversary celebration of the chinese society of naval architects and marine engineers held in guangzhou. since the selection of “ship design master” began, dsic has four people ranked on the list, which fully demonstrated its strong technical strength, and dsic can be called as “the cradle of ship design master”. jiang fumao has been working for nearly 30 years and he has been committed to the research and development, and the design work of the ships and the offshore products, and also to the research on the advanced manufacturing technology. he has successively presided and participated in the design and r&d work for large oil tankers, container ships, bulk carriers, fpso, large jack-up drilling platforms, deepwater semi-submersible drilling units, national key models and other products, and has undertaken a number of national major scientific research projects since the “ninth five-year project”. among them, the 52,000-ton large-hatchway multi-purpose ships, vlcc, large jack-up drilling platforms, fpso, 3000m deepwater semi-submersible drilling platforms, deepwater semi-submersible drilling support platforms and key model works are all made in china for the first time, and the overall technology has reached the domestic leading and the international advanced level. in addition, on the afternoon of december 5, jiang fumao attended the 2nd china ship transformation and upgrading development forum 2018, and made a speech entitled “continue to optimize the product structure, realize the transformation and upgrading of mainstream ship type”, which was widely concerned by the participants and aroused strong responses.
