csic is a major supplier of naval equipment and is the backbone of the shipbuilding industry in china. it is also the only enterprise group in china that has independently designed and built the domestic aircraft carrier, and has a large number of subsidiaries with strong strength in r&d and construction. both the aircraft carrier liaoning and the first home-made aircraft carrier leaving the dock for sea trial were designed by the research institute of the group company, built and fabricated by dsic affiliated to “china heavy industry” (a listed company under csic); with the power systems manufactured and provided by enterprises affiliated to "china power" (a listed company under csic); with the communication systems manufactured and provided by enterprises affiliated to “china coast defense” (a listed company under csic); and with the emergency and firefighting systems manufactured and provided by enterprises affiliated to "china harzone" (a listed company under csic). both the aircraft carrier liaoning and the first indigenous aircraft carrier leaving the dock for the first sea trial have led chinese navy to the "era of double carriers". this is also the results for which csic has been actively using the capital market to raise funds to serve china's national defense construction for a long time.
