on april 18th, the 325,000dwt very large ore carrier (vloc) no. 4, built by bohai shipbuilding heavy industry corporation (bsic) of dsic, was launched 12 days ahead of the annual plan.
the ship is registered in ccs single classification society, with total length of 340 meters, molded width of 62 meters, design draft of 21.4 meters, deadweight of about 325,000 tons, service speed of 14.6 knots, and endurance of 25,500 nautical miles. the ship can be operated by one person in design. it is equipped with hull stress monitoring system, propulsion system driven by single machine of dual fuel, lng fuel tank and exhaust gas desulfurization system, all of which make the ship green， environmental protection, energy saving and safety.
during the construction of the ship, all participating units of bsic have worked together to identify risks and formulate measures in advance, effectively ensured the production schedule. the ship was started on time on may 8, 2020, and put on berth 12 days ahead of the annual plan on nov. 11, 2020. bsic successfully realized the floating operation of cargo hold annular section in large linear engine room for the first time on jan. 16, 2021, the inspection application node of shaft rudder cable system with high quality on feb. 22, 2021, the main hull forming node on mar. 20, 2021, and the launching node 29 days after the main hull forming, which set a new record for construction of ships in the same type.
in order to ensure the efficient and timely completion of dock mooring test after the ship is out of dock, and realize the trial node on schedule, the participating units planned in detail, decomposed the indexes, and significantly improved the launching integrity of the ship compared with the previous first ship, so as to lay foundation for the mooring test.
after the ship was out of dock, the mooring test was carried out at terminal four. all participating units will make every effort to ensure that the trial node is realized on schedule and strive tirelessly to achieve the goal of early delivery! |
