on march 11th, dsic, the subsidiary of china state shipbuilding corporation limited(cssc), and china shipbuilding trading corporation (cstc) successfully undertook the new construction project of 2 2 7100teu container ships for danaos corporation, the greek shipowner. the representatives of all parties signed the shipbuilding contract in form of cloud signing.
the ship type signed in this contract is designed by shanghai merchant ship design & research institute（sdari）as new generation 7100teu container ships, which meet the requirements of imo tier iii emission and eedi phase iii standards, and have the performance advantages of energy conservation and environmental protection.
danaos corporation is one of the largest independent container shipowners in the world, with a total of 71 container ships ranging from 2200teu to 13100teu, and has long-term ship leasing contracts with many head liner companies.
after all the 2 2 7100teu container ships come into effect, dsic will have undertaken 10 ships of the same type, steadily realize the mass and efficient construction of main ship types, and continue to rank first in global medium-sized container ship construction market. this signing is the first time that the shipowner joins hands with the subsidiaries of cssc after ten years. it is even the first time for the shipowner to place an order in dsic. it will further deepen the business friendship among dsic, cstc and the shipowner, and continue to improve and consolidate the market share and leading position of dsic in the field of medium and large container ships. |
