paul sun bo pointed out in his speech, it is vital for national security and destiny to develop shipbuilding technology and equipment. as a leading enterprise in the field of shipbuilding technology and equipment in china, csic has had the largest existing ship building and repair base and the most complete domestic ship supporting capacity, which has gathered the major force in china ship research and design, with 28 scientific research institutions and more than 60000 specialists and technical staff.. csic has been selected into fortune global 500 for 6 consecutive years, whose ranking continues rising to 281st position, and which has formed into a development pattern focusing on offshore engineering industry, mechanical and electrical powered equipment, strategic and emerging industry and modern productive service industry. aiming at building the innovative and leading enterprise of civil-military blending, leading technology and industry-finance integration as her development target, csic always persist in innovation-driven development and has made great contributions to improve the level of china shipbuilding technology and equipment.
sun also indicated, facing the pressing demand on building great maritime power, our national shipbuilding technology and equipment has entered into a crucial development time. csic shall continue to boost the capacity of independent innovation, accelerate innovative pace and endeavor to play much more important roles in carrying out national survey of ocean resources, safeguarding national sea security, developing ocean economy and maintaining maritime rights and interests. csic would like to strengthen tie-up with the academicians, experts and friends to seek for co-development, and make new greater contributions to development and innovation of national shipbuilding technology and equipment and construction of great maritime power.
dsic chairman and party secretary liu zheng introduced the profile of dsic and status of products under development to the participated academicians and experts. liu said, dsic has a national-class enterprise technology center with a team of more than 1100 r&d and design staff led by cae academicians and national ship design masters. since the founding of new china, dsic has created over 70 no.1s in china shipbuilding industry in her development, well known as the flagship of china shipbuilding industry and the cradle of chinese naval ships. since the consolidation and restructuring in 2005, the economic scale and shipbuilding scale has achieved a leapfrog development, whose major economic indicators have maintained a growth rate of 20% for 8 consecutive years. even during the 12th five-year plan with a rampant financial crisis influence on the shipbuilding industry, the major economic indicators have still maintained a relatively stable trend.
dsic is a shipyard who has built the most of naval ships for chinese navy, among which, the first national aircraft carrier liaoning has been built and delivered successfully, as one of the important partners and naval ship building bases for chinese navy. during the 13th five-year plan, dsic’s hand-hold military product orderbook and contract amount have reached the historic peak, with multi lines in parallel. guided by csic’s strategic goal of an innovation-type leading enterprise of civil-military blending, leading technology and industry-finance integration, dsic shall firmly implement the idea of military products above all, enhance the sense of mission and sense of responsibility, and forge fine projects of military products so as to accomplish military production with high quality and high standard.
the participated academicians and experts also listened to the presentation of products under research and special report on shipbuilding technology development from 701 and 709 institutes, paid a site visit to dsic’s major equipment and projects of naval ships under construction, and went deep and broad into discussions on how to further enhance scientific innovation capacity and boost the level of our national shipbuilding technology and equipment. the academicians indicated, this seminar has provided with a good exchange platform. china has a long history in shipbuilding, due to ideological emancipation of shipbuilders, the development of shipbuilding technology has a rapid progress with outstanding achievements, among which, csic’s achievements achieved are exciting. all industries among sea, ground and sky are interlinked and tightly connected. they wished to further strengthen exchange so as to make greater contributions to strategy implementation of great maritime power with joint effort.
